2020 Dodge Challenger Convertible Canada – The current generation Dodge Challenger may as well be encased in amber when its last redesign came all the way back in 2008. Entering the 12th model year, the 2020 Challenger will hit showrooms with a lot of updates, but with basically the same design. Here’s what we expect when to see when this muscle car arrives.
2020 Dodge Challenger Convertible Canada
While not through a redesign since 2008, 2020 Dodge Challenger Convertible Canada has seen its share of soft-part updates, including restyled front fascias, new taillights and updated wheels over the years. We expect much of the same from this potent Coupe in the upcoming model year. The 2020 Challenger will arrive with nine new wheel options, including standard 19-inch satin Carbon rollers on SXT AWD and GT AWD trims, and standard 20s on GT RWD grade. Rounding out the exterior updates will be updated badges and three new paint options: Frostbite, Hellraisin, and Sinamon stick.
Inside, the 2020 Dodge Challenger will continue with the same basic cabin it has had for over a decade, but with a few updates to improve its appearance and functionality. The two most notable updates will include a Premium-stitched Dash and upper door panels on all leather-equipped models and new dashboard badges. Other changes will consist of optional carbon-fiber brackets with the Dynamica Suede Headliner on V8 models; an optional flat steering wheel for the GT RWD, R / T and R / T Scat Pack; and a new caramel Alcantara color option on GT, R / T, and R / T Scat Pack models.
The 2020 Challenger will be the same crew of engine options, starting with a 305-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 in SXT and GT models. In R / T trim, this Coupe boasts a 375-HP 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Moving to the R / T Scat Pack and Scat Pack widebody trimmer will drop in a 485-HP 392-cubic-inch V8. Choose one of the wild SRT Hellcat models and get a super charged 6.2-liter V8 with 717 HP in the standard model or 797 HP in the Hellcat Redeye trim.
These engines will pair with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional eight-speed automatic in R / T, R / T Scat Pack, and SRT Hellcat grades. The SXT, SXT AWD, gt, gt AWD and SRT Hellcat Redeye trims will all come as standard with the eight speed automatic. Rear wheel drive will come standard in all trims except SXT AWD and gt AWD, which will be standard with all wheel drive.
The current 2020 Dodge Challenger Convertible Canada shows its age in IIHS safety tests with “good” ratings in only moderate-overlap front and side tests. In the other three collision tests, this performance platform received “moderate” or “acceptable” ratings. Advanced Safety Tech is another tender spot with its optional forward-collision warning system that receives only a “basic” score in the critical front-crash prevention test. Automatic emergency braking is not available in the current Challenger. Dodge made no improvements to the 2020 Challenger safety equipment, so we expect these ratings to remain the same.
2020 Dodge Challenger Convertible PRICING & RELEASE DATE
Dodge has not officially confirmed the on-Sale date of the 2020 Dodge Challenger Convertible Canada, but we expect a late-2019 or Early-2020 release based on the fleet schedule mid-November 2019 production kickoff date. Dodge has not revealed pricing for its two-door muscle car yet, but with no major changes coming, we expect it to remain close to the 2019 model’s MSRP range of $ 29,590 to $ 79,440
