2020 Dodge RAM 1500 Diesel Release Date – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is ready to abandon its problems with the faulty emissions control software on 2014-2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel by launching a new and improved version of the diesel-powered truck. Car makers are proud to state that the new EcoDiesel 1500 1500 should be the “most powerful half-ton diesel pickup in America ” and “the most capable lightweight task diesel.”

The vehicle’s utility is powered by a significantly reworked 3.0-liter V6 oil burner, generating a maximum of 260 horsepower (194 kilowatt) and a peak torque of 480 pound-feet (650 Newton-meter) at 1,600 rpm. This represents an increase of 14 percent of the large torque and 8 percent horsepower increase. In addition, maximum torque is now available at 400 rpm earlier in the RPM range than in previous versions, allowing a half-ton truck to offer a maximum towing capacity of up to 12,560 pounds (5,697 kilograms).
“New Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is the most powerful half-ton diesel pickup in America, following up the torque leadership of Ram heavy duty and achieving what other manufacturers don’t have, with up to 480 lb-ft torque in a 3.0-liter engine, ” Reid Bigland, head Brand Ram, commented. “Our all-new EcoDiesel engine and lightweight hybrid eTorque powertrain technology deliver the highest fuel efficiency available to our 1500 Ram customers.”
The V6 compression ignition Motor benefited from the new water-cooled turbocharger with variable geometry turbine and redesigned exhaust gas recirculation system. Further modifications are also made to the fuel injection and delivery systems, as well as cylinder head intake ports. Last but not least, the new lightweight aluminum alloy piston with thinner rings and low friction layers on pins and side skirts added to reduce losses.
Ram explained will offer a new 3.0-liter V6 diesel for all 1500 models and configurations, including the Rebel Ram. Sales are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, when prices and economic fuel ratings will be released. The EcoDiesel 1500 series will be built in the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) FCA in Sterling Heights, Michigan, while its diesel engine is assembled at the Cento facility of the factory in Ferrara, Italy.
Well it didn’t take long. Less than three weeks after the Chevrolet announced that the 420-lb-ft, 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six turbodiesel will eventually see the light of the day under the hood of a Silverado pickup pickup half a ton of 2020, Ram has done a torque coup d ‘ attat and seize Back to the throne with the latest version of the EcoDiesel V-6 3.0-liter turbocharged its rated 480 lb-ft. Not only is 14 percent stronger, it now achieves full torque output at 1600 rpm, 400 rpm lower than the previous version. That means a maximum crane value of 12,560 pounds when equipped properly. The Ford F-150 Power Stroke diesel is rated pulling 11,400 pounds, while the Silverado half-ton diesel is scheduled to get a 9700 pound crane rating. Ram says EcoDiesel 2020 will be in the showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Built by the FCA-owned VM Motori in Ferrara, Italy, EcoDiesel 3.0-liter Ram has always been a wild card in the segment (you can find the EcoDiesel historical storyline here), and besides the boast rights, we are thinking the update is already Long overdue. While additional output is acceptable, we hope the update will successfully help clean the exhaust and correct its prone rattle behavior.
